Highlight: Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building on the APEC Collaborative Framework on ODR to Improve Cross-Border Trade in Indonesia
Hai Sahabat MedArbId!
Our Chairman, Tony Budidjaja, spoke as one of the speakers at the “Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building on the APEC Collaborative Framework on ODR to Improve Cross-Border Trade in Indonesia” on June 14-15. This workshop was organized by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
APEC is the premier Asia-Pacific economic forum that is committed to supporting sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific Region. This workshop is a platform to discuss the recent findings on Indonesia’s legal and institutional framework as well as stakeholder perspective on ODR for cross-border B2B transactions.
Tony was among the experts that spoke during the workshop where he specifically covered the topic of "APEC ODR Framework on ODR: Prospects and Challenges in its Implementation in Indonesia" which specifically covered the different realities and challenges of the application of ODR in Indonesia such as the lack of a competent governing authority and the lack of a legal framework.
We believe that the workshop and future events such as this provide an important platform for sharing experiences across different economies and jurisdiction in the different issues faced in the implementation of cross-border dispute resolution and ODR.
