The Indonesian Academy of Independent Mediators and Arbitrators (MedArbId) is a not-for-profit member-based Indonesian centre for promotion and augmentation of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). MedArbId is devoted to encourage adoption of ADR mechanism by increasing awareness and developing the profession across the archipelago and its neighbors through affordable and accessible education, and training.
MedArbId positions itself as an avenue for members and other interested parties for congregating local and international practices, building capacity by coaching and mentoring budding ADR practitioners and aspirants. It further aims to cultivate communication and cooperation between arbitration and mediation practitioners, judicial institutions, business communities, regulators, and other stakeholders on matters affecting their various interests, providing opportunities for all stakeholders of the economy in resolving disputes and helping holistic growth of the economy – with a special focus on Indonesia and other emerging Asian and Pacific economies.
One of the most important factors, more often than not, disregarded as to ADR development is the affordability of courses and trainings. The cost not only affects young, but also experienced and professionals. This bars ADR aspirants and professionals from developing, enhancing, and polishing their ADR skills and consequently, hinders the holistic growth of ADR. To this line, we aim to provide an affordable education and training for professional mediators and arbitrators and ADR aspirants in Indonesia.
