Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building on the APEC Collaborative Framework on ODR to Improve Cross-Border Trade in Indonesia
A substantial proportion of MSMEs (77%) engaged in cross-border trade and face challenges in dispute resolution, particularly in cross-border business-to-business (B2B) disputes. These challenges emerge in the Indonesian setting for one simple reason: local businesses believe that dispute resolution through conventional arbitration procedures is costly and therefore must be avoided. This results in many unresolved cross-bored disputes.
Based on these circumstances, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia are organizing a workshop entitled "Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building on the APEC Collaborative Framework on ODR to Improve Cross-Border Trade in Indonesia."
Our chairman, Tony Budidjaja, will be one of the speakers and will be one of the speakers addressing the theme "APEC ODR Framework on ODR: Prospects and Challenges in its Implementation in Indonesia."
The workshop is scheduled to take place on June 14-15, 2023, in Bali, Indonesia.
We hope that this workshop will serve as a valuable platform for discussing the latest findings on Indonesia's legal and institutional framework, as well as stakeholder perspectives on ODR for cross-border B2B transactions.
